Spring is on its way and that means warmer weather and time to clean up the village!
The Village will be patching potholes soon and refreshing our green spaces with new grass seed and mulch. Keeping the Village looking nice takes ALL of us, so this is a great time for residents to clean up their yards too!
Some easy & affordable things you can do to maintain the appearance of your home is to clean up leaves, trim bushes, and remove things from around the front and sides of your home. Things like unused patio furniture, plywood, trash cans, broken items, etc. should be disposed of or moved to your back yard, shed, or garage, so that the front and sides of your home are presentable.
The Village of Oakwood Park will have three seats open for the Board of trustees on the

between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm M-F or send an email to the
villageofoakwoodpark@gmail.com to make an appointment to pick the paperwork up.
The first date of filing is December 10, 2024 at 8am. The last day for candidate filing is December 31, 2024 at 5pm.
As announced in the Fall newsletter, Google Fiber is coming to the Village of Oakwood Park.
Installation is currently underway and residents should prepare for some minor traffic delays on and around 61st Terrace over the first couple weeks in December, and until installation is complete.
We encourage residents to go to the Google Fiber website https://fiber.google.com/fiber-internet-near-me/ and enter their address to get notified when their specific street is active, and to get pricing details.
*Update 1/08/25 - Due to weather conditions, Google has estimated that our installation will be completed in February which means service is estimated to be available in March.
We will continue posting updates here as we get them.
**Update 3/04/25 - Google fiber is wrapping up the installation and service will be available for Oakwood Park towards the end of March. No specific date was provided, just note it will be this month, and the entire village will be active at the same time so there is not one street that will be first or last. The entire village goes live at the same time.
If you put your address in the Google website for notifications, then you should receive a notification directly from Google some time this month whenever service is available.
The Village Board will continue posting monthly updates until service is available. Once service is available the project will be considered complete and all further correspondence about your service will be conducted between the individual resident and Google.
